Moleskine Drawings

Here are a couple of drawings in my moleskine book. The old fashion gumball machine is in the ice cream parlor at the assisted living facility where I work with the residents, making monoprints. I drew this as they were busy painting. The other drawing is a modified "What's in my purse?" using the grid layout. Key bob, cell phone and eyeglass bob or necklace. I was going to add more but once I did the eyeglass holder I like the composition. Both are ink and watercolor.

I love how you did your grid. Lovely sketches-they just yell how fun they were to do.

Great drawing! Love how you used the grid to break up the composition into interesting pieces, rather than simply filling in the boxes with one item each.

Hi Deborah: Welcome to Bloging. I just found your blog link on the Yahoo ATC Group (Jane's group). I see you are new here. It is a friendly group, and once you get the hang of it, it is user friendly most of the time.

Gumball machines are so much fun. What a marvelous subject to draw. I love the crisscrossing shadow behind it, the ornate design, and the cheerful gumballs.

“I was going to add more but once I did the eyeglass holder I like the composition.” --> Knowing when to stop is the key to great composition. It’s a great design.

*Eyeglass bob! Now I know what it’s called, thank you!
