The Last of 2010

I am starting 2011 by finishing 2010. These are some sketches that I never posted. I went with my sister, Nancy to her friend, Paige's home and sketched around the house while they had their meeting.

My other sister, Lynette and I went sketching with an other sketching friend, Sydney. We ended up at the Treasure Barn which had some cool stuff but really had a lot of junk. We did managed to find something to sketch, Mari would be proud.

In June a group of us went back to the Fullerton Arboretum, our favorite summer haunt. I love all the great flowers, fruits and veggies. It is always a great relaxing day with good friends.

On this day a man was picking some blackberries in his patch and we told him we were the official berry tasters. He had a bumper crop this year and gave us a big bag of the juiciest berries! I dabbed my page with the juice from the bag. A surprise addition to our sack lunches.

These sketches look so nice and warm! After walking several miles in the chilly grey, this was a welcome respite.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my site. Do you frequently draw people, or are you just starting out? For me, I couldn't sketch live people on pages like I do now until quite a bit of practice. Some people seem to take to it really naturally, though.

Lovely warm sketches - a nice contrast to the chilly greynes of the UK! I like your layouts.

I really like your sketch pages. Your China journal has been a real inspiration to me on my recent vacation to Mexico.

Beautiful sketches of all these gorgeous items! I would love to spend a day just to do that, but wow I must say you accomplished so much in such little time. Totally impressed!

I LOVE your sketches!! The way you draw so many different objects on a page and they work out to a harmonious whole is splendid. I enjoyed looking through your blog and your style is delightful.
