Columbia River Take Two

These are rest of my sketches from the Columbia River cruise with my mom. Man made Stonehenge in Oregon. In Astoria there are these brillant green pilings in the water. They are covered with algae or moss and are beautiful in the sunlight.
Always ask if they have a stamp. I like the addition they make to my pages. This page is bits and pieces at the Museum of the Columbia River Gorge. The wooden carved sturgeon was about 10 ft. long. Yikes!
At the Maryhill Museum there were two rooms of chess sets. They were very stunning, eveything from art deco, golds and silvers to ivory and wooden carved sets.
The last day of touring was at Fort Clatsop and the Maritime Museum in Astoria. I tied all my sketches together with strands of coloful glass trading beads. It was a fun trip. I will definately plan a cruise with Cruise West in Alaska.

What great adventures you are having Debbie! So. Cal seems kinda boring compared to your trips to Costa Rica, the river cruise and future plans! I joined the Bowers last week (waiting for my packet). I joined as a student and can't wait to take advantage for the tickets to the Terra Cotta Warriors....I missed them in London and so happy they are coming to boring so. cal! LOL! Thanks for stopping by to visit and comment. My life has been so busy lately but hope to slow down a bit by summer...then again not.

Fascinating pages! Makes me want to travel too. You do such an incredible job with these journals, and I love the stamp worked into the page. I will remember that the next time i visit somewhere memorable.

I'm just checking to see if you utilized any of your creativity exercises that you learned in Costa Rica on your recent Columbia River trip. :) Beautiful sketches!

The pages are beautiful and I know the trip must have been great. We were in that area 20 years ago, and it was stunning.
